What Did You Say?

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know “ (Jeremiah 33:3).

Once, I was texting back and forth with my daughter. On one of the threads, I sent an emoji, I thought I knew what it meant. I didn’t. She responded with three question marks. She texted, “Dad, what are you talking about?” I texted back that I’d never used that emoji before, she returned with an LOL emoji.

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”.

Jeremiah didn’t understand what the Lord was saying about the future of Israel. God texted to Jeremiah, “Call Me. I’ll tell you what you want to know.”

On occasion, does our communication with God resemble the one of me and my daughter? Are we using the wrong emojis when we’re talking with God? We don’t understand, yet, we’re not asking Him which is the correct emoji too use. We don’t take the time to learn the meaning of all the emojis, so we get frustrated and stop communicating with Him.

God doesn’t use spiritual emojis when communicating with His people, He speaks through His word. We can search the scriptures and find the answers that we need. God gives us pastors that have a devoted heart towards Him. They want you to know, grow, and go. (Hey, that can make a nice rap!) They are God’s gift to you from Him. When you receive a life emoji that brings with it question marks, go to His Word. Go to His pastor that He has given you. God wants you to have a daily LOL!
